The Original Penguin Jacket was said to have been created in 1956, commissioned by our founder, Abbot Pederson, to celebrate the on year anniversary of Original Penguin.
This one-of-kind garment embodied the spirit of our brand, and was meant to be worn by Pederson himself, his friends, and friends of friends, as a creative way to extend the lifestyle and the values of the company he founded.
What was supposed to be one year became a decade and half. During this period, it was said that the Jacket went above and beyond its destiny.
Worn by Original Penguin higher-ups and their celebrity friends, it was taken everywhere from the highest peaks of Mt. Kilimanjaro to the depths of a heart shaped tub in a seedy Vegas hotel -- until its disappearance in 1971.
